Reason for Loss
Clive Eustace Woodward lost his life on Operation Goodwood (Navy) when his Corsair II JT309 was shot down by flak near the entrance to Kaafjord when Strafing Gun Positions, during an attack on The German Battleship Tirpitz.
Clive Eustace Woodward R.N.Z.N.V.R. (Age 23) is buried at TROMSO CEMETERY War Graves plot Row B. Grave 7. Norway. Born in 1921 at Whakatāne, Whakatāne District, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Son of Arnold Adler Woodward and Eileen Vere Woodward, of Whakatane, Auckland, New Zealand.
