Pilot, Sub Lieut (A) B A Lawrence, R.N.V.R. of Swindon, Lancs, successfully landed his damaged Grumman Martlet fighter bomber on the Pursuer after it had “chewed” its way through tree-tops while on a low level strafing mission against German transport in the South of France, during one of the numerous operations undertaken from the Aircraft Carrier during August 21st to 26th 1944.  (Photo I.W.M.)
