REASON FOR LOSS:

Failed to return from Rhubarb, south west of Pleneuf, a.m. France. Reason unknown.
Just 5 days earlier  on the 16th October  1943 F/Sgt Gittus had a lucky escape when he was hit by flak on another Rhubarb and crashed on return to Warmwell, hitting Typhoon JP490 ‘P’ on the ground, the aircraft he was flying Typhoon JP788 was struck off charge.
