David is the founder of this society which was founded back in 1994 following the closure of The Booker Aircraft Museum which he founded in 1982. The museum idea had been championed by David when he was secretary and later chairman of The Chiltern Historical Aircraft Preservation Group which was founded back in 1971
This Remembrance Society for Aircrew was created so as to continue David’s passion for Aviation in many fields including, aircraft preservation and restoration, crash site investigations and aircraft recovery, The foundation of memorials, and most importantly the preservation of researched material and photographic history, along with preserved artifacts in our Heritage collection in relation to the missing and fallen airmen of the Second World War, for their permanent remembrance in our history and education for future generations.
