General Władysław Sikorski, the C-in-C of the Polish Armed Forces, decorating Sergeant Zygmunt Popławski of No. 301 Polish Bomber Squadron, wounded and immobilised on stretchers, with Virtuti Militari at the new Polish Air Force standard presentation ceremony at RAF Swinderby, 16 July 1941.
