Wilsley R J, England, Army, R.A.S.C., Sergeant

Sergeant R. J. Wilsley of Rose Cottage, South Martin, Kingsbridge, Devon, and other members of his crew at Arromanches.  During a gale which raged in the channel recently many A.A. gunners in vessels off the Normandy coast were in great danger of being washed overboard. Sgt. Wilsey of Kingsbridge, Devon, put out in an R.A.S.C. launch and brought 170 of them ashore. The exertions of he and his crew undoubtedly saved the lives of many of these men.
